I am a clever little web developer located in Arlington, Virginia who loves what they do. I first got the opportunity to start building websites when I worked for HouseCall, IT (a U.S. House of Representatives contractor) over 6 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since.

My strongest technical skills currently are coding HTML5, CSS3 and Photoshop. My strongest personal attributes currently are my can-do attitude, my unwavering confidence under pressure and my genuine love of people.

Currently, I am the Web Master at WhiteRaverRafting (an electronic music journalism site). What began as a just a hobby and a dream, became one of the best learning experiences I could ever ask for when a good friend asked me to join the writing staff at WRR nearly 3 years ago.

After a year of traveling the music festival circuit reporting on events, maintaining our social media outlets and conducting interviews with some of the best artist in electronic music – we all agreed it was time for a website overhaul. As the only web developer on staff, I was completely entrusted with this task and in doing so I assumed the role as their web master.

Since I began working for WRR our average daily sessions have increased over 180%, we’ve gained over 15k Facebook followers and we’ve expanded our audience from a small following in the DC area to a worldwide influence. My responsibilities include everything from reporting and analyzing the Google Analytics data to SEO, ad placement and innovation.

On top of managing all of the web needs for this side project, I’ve been developing websites for over 6 years in the DC metropolitan area for not only government agencies but also the private sector. I’ve created email campaigns for non-project organizations, e-commerce websites for as seen on TV products and everything in between.

My experience in the web development field has molded me into something of a jack of all trades over the years and my boundless curiosity about the internet ensures that will never change.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Skills

Wordpress

WordPress is one of the most commonly used CMS platforms today and I have spent the past few years utilizing its potential in many forms. From e-commerce to blogs, WordPress is certainly a user friendly experience I have enjoyed taking advantage of in my recent projects.

UX Design

The best websites are not simply well organized graphics but interfaces that function as beautifully as they look. For someone who uses the internet as much as I do, the experience of the site will always determine whether it gets a return visit or a bounce.

HTML5 & CSS3

HTML5 and CSS3 have changed the game as far as the capability and efficiency of web. Upon their initial release, I ran to the nearest Barnes and Noble to buy the first book that would explain their wonders in detail and I’ve been exploring their uses ever since.

Section 508 Compliance

508 compliance is that dirty phrase that makes poorly coded websites shudder. Luckily for me, my first web development job was working for Capitol Hill so catering to government regulation has always been a big priority for me.
